    Kentucky Prescription Assistance Program (KPAP)

The cost of medication can be a heavy financial burden for many, even for those with prescription insurance benefits. Unfortunately, many in our community have had to choose between purchasing life-saving medications or paying for food and utility bills.

To help ease this issue, Livingston Hospital has partnered with Kentucky Public Health to coordinate the Kentucky Prescription Assistance Program (KPAP), which helps the public access prescription drug programs offered by the pharmaceutical companies, discount drug programs and discount pharmacy programs. Individuals and/or their families can access available prescription drugs for free or at a drastically reduced cost if they qualify for the programs.
    • Patient eligibility is based on income guidelines set by each individual drug manufacturer—usually between 200-400% of the federal poverty level.
    • There are no age requirements to apply for assistance.
    • Most programs allow insured AND uninsured patients to participate, as long as they do not have coverage for the requested medication.
