SALEM, KY – Livingston Hospital is planning a $60 million expansion and modernization of their 25 bed facility, along with expansion of ambulatory services throughout Livingston Crittenden Counties.

The project, set to begin within the next year, will include space for expanded services, such as more operating rooms, an oncology and infusion area, nuclear medicine, MRI, 3D mammography, DEXA scans and cardiac rehab. Newly-renovated all-private rooms and an inpatient therapy center are also in the project plans.

"Livingston Hospital has been here to meet the health care needs of our community for nearly 70 years,” said Shane Whittington, CEO. “This expansion and modernization will further enhance our ability to provide quality surgical and hospital-based care to patients in Livingston, Crittenden and Lyon Counties, keeping them close to home.”

Livingston Hospital, with more than 180 employees, is one of the largest employers in the area. In 2022, the hospital had an estimated $6.5 million impact in the community, including payroll, goods and services, and capital spending.

“Our project is about strategically planning for health care services that meet the needs of patients now, and in the future,” said Whittington. “Our goal is to enhance our facility to help patients receive the care they need, right here, in our community.”

A groundbreaking ceremony will be planned to celebrate the beginning of the construction project and share more details with the community.
